I hear that! I think we've seen ample evidence as we've travelled this Cosimo Road together, however, that a record's release date may not accurately represent its recording date... some of these small labels may have had stuff 'in the can' for a couple of years, who knows?
We know that the Dover
LABEL was started up in 1962, but that was a whole 'nother story. Can any of you crack detectives out there find the earliest 'coded' 45 that reads "Distributed by Dover Records"? White Cliffs, Cos' own label, doesn't have it through 1964, and the earliest one listed on the site is #222:
