The photo is from July, 1968, when Jonas "Mr. R&B" Bernholm came to NOLA for the first time. Please attribute to him plus the JEFFERSON blues mag. I think that Matassa went bankrupt this year, hence the guy trying to break in to get some money from... Anyhow, this is what Bernholm stated. Per Oldaeus.

"The caption for Bernholm's Jazz City Studios photo (1968).

"Cosmo (or Cosimo) Recording Studio [Jazz City Studios, sic]. An era is over, just as I [Jonas Bernholm] was walking past 748 Camp. The deputy sheriff is breaking in with a crowbar because of Cosimo Matassas overdue payments. The 1960s classic R & B hits (Betty Harris, Lee Dorsey, etc.) were all recorded here."

Hope this is OK. Per. :)

The Bernholm JAZZ CITY photo was taken in July, 1968. I will scan some other record studio shots soon. Per O.

Recording at 748 Camp St, July 1968. To the left, The Triple Souls, with: Mercedes Fields, Inez Cheatham, Sena Fletcher, plus unknown. To the right: Little Sony Jones (1931-1989), recording the song "Soul Power" for "Scram" Records (Al Scramuzza),. In a Bernholm article for the JEFFERSON mag.,(#143, spring 2005), he stated that: Eddie Bo played organ and did the arr. Bernholm also accounted that Cheatham cut for "Scram" as "Mary Jane Hooper".
